Editor's Picks: Why Lucky's Senior Fashion Writer Loves the '70s

"I had the amazing opportunity to take part in the photo shoot for the embroidery chapter in Lena's book—she's the most talented person I know, and probably in all of Brooklyn. That's my fuzzy ombré top-knotted head on the acknowledgments page!"

Jayna gets inspired by the muted palette and retro-feminine silhouettes of the ’70s. “I love Ali MacGraw’s wardrobe in Love Story,” says the Lucky senior fashion writer of the classic 1970 film. “The rich yet soft colors and cozy cuts—it’s perfection.” This season, Maleri is modernizing the vintage aesthetic with hits of vibrant hues and fresh details, like woolly textures or soft draping. “I’m always drawn to a slightly slouchy fit,” says Maleri. “It’s easy and flattering, but sophisticated.”
