PHOTOS: Rihanna Just Landed A Modeling Gig At A Major French Brand
Rihanna is parlaying her love for French luxe label Balmain into a new gig: the singer will be featured in its Spring 2014 advertising campaign, and we've got your first glimpse right here!
As WWD reports, RiRi's Balmain ads, to appear in magazines in January, were shot by fashion photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in New York—convenient for her new, walk-in-closet-equipped Manhattan digs. In these first two teaser images, we see the native Barbadian in two dissimilar (yet both infinitely Balmain) looks—one baby pink and feminine, the other harder and chain-embellished.
Rihanna is no stranger to modeling, having fronted campaigns for Armani Jeans last year while also designing a capsule collection for UK retailer River Island. And we're not the only ones who appreciate Rihanna's sartorial prowess: Balmain's creative director, Olivier Rousteing, described the singer as an "icon." "In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world," said Rousteing. "When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete."
