WATCH: Lanvin's Seductive And Cryptic Spring Campaign Video
Don't lie: you've always wanted to know what models discuss with each other during a photo shoot. (We imagine it's something along the lines of, "These shoes are killing me," or simply "Kate Moss.") As WWD reports, Lanvin's creative director Alber Elbaz seemed interested in the same topic, too—interested enough that he set the Parisian fashion house's Spring 2014 campaign video to a cryptic soundtrack of his models' innocuous chit-chat.
The minute-long video features three platinum blonde women and three brooding men posing in heaps of Lanvin's signature lamé and glittering jewels. As they do so, a voiceover whispers phrases like "It's my finest work," "I love the way it smells as it rises"—and the narrative's pièce de résistance, "thick and frosty."
Is the sextet talking about food—or perhaps something more? Alber explains: "When someone whispers, you have to get close and you have to ask them to repeat. Why are they talking about food?"
