This New York Fashion Week, I'm seeing red—and it's not because of this season's particularly spread-out venues, New York's freezing temperatures or the usual show-to-show transportation difficulties. No, I just happen to have a new girl crush: flame-haired model Natalie Westling, who caught my eye at both the Prabal Gurung and Marc by Marc Jacobs shows. At the former, Prabal ingeniously chose a head-to-toe scarlet look for the catwalking ingenue; at the latter, her instantly recognizable hair was tightly braided into pigtails and popped against army green separates.
With her doll-like features (she's a dead ringer for a younger Natasha Lyonne, no?) and, of course, that hair, you might wonder how it look so long for Natalie to be discovered. In fact, you very well might've seen her before: not only does she star in Saint Laurent's Spring 2014 ads, but she walked at Louis Vuitton, Chanel Haute Couture, Saint Laurent and Marc Jacobs last season. However, she did all of the above as either a brunette or a strawberry blonde, and only went full-tilt traffic-stopping red just before being tapped to appear in Marc Jacobs' most recent campaign—yes, the one also starring Miley Cyrus. Proof that a dramatic hair change can make all the difference, I suppose!
