Of the hundreds of things we saw, heard and did during NYFW, the 11 in this gallery stuck out most. Click through for the week's most noteworthy moments.
Celebrity With the Busiest Show Schedule: Anna Kendrick
Monique Lhuillier, Jill Stuart, Rebecca Minkoff—these are just a mere sampling of the many, many shows the Pitch Perfect star was spotted at. Her days were more packed than most fashion editors'!
Most Dramatic Runway Show: Alexander Wang
While some people were less than excited about trekking to Brooklyn's Navy Yard (for those of you unfamiliar with the geography of NYC, it's quite the hike from NYFW's Lincoln Center home base) to watch, the journey was worth it: guests were treated to a revolving runway, clothes that changed color and an all-star model cast.
Coziest Coats of the Season: Altuzarra
Maybe its just because we slogged through subzero temperatures all week, but we cannot stop thinking about how snuggly and wonderful Altuzarra's robe coats are. (How much do you want to bet that Queen of Coats Kim K. has already placed an order for next season?)
Most Surprising Celebrity Appearance: Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams at Christian Siriano
Without their braided updos and elaborate costumes, we hardly recognized the Game of Thrones actresses at first. Once we did, of course, the geek-out began—team Stark forever!
Best Show Soundtrack: Alexander Wang
As if the runway and collection weren't awesome enough (see slide three!), the designer's head-banging electronica playlist (he started the show with "Mobbin" by Grandtheft feat. Hedspin—what an entrance!) had us completely captivated. Alex, will you please DJ our next office party?
Comeback Trend of the Week: Socks With Everything
If you've been missing '90s-era sandal/sock combos, or the way everyone paired pumps with anklets in 2010, then we've got some good news: from heels to sandals to oxfords to booties, socks were paired with nearly every kind of shoe we spotted this week. Next fall is going to be gloriously blister-free.
Most Ambitious Beauty Look: Bleached Eyebrows at Marc Jacobs
Along with bleached, blunt bobs, matching headbands and a glassy-eyed stare, every MJ model walked the runway with platinum eyebrows. A commitment, for sure—but if Marc Jacobs asks, who's going to say no?!
The Collection Guaranteed to Sell Out Next Fall: Marc by Marc Jacobs
The manga-meets-motocross feeling happening in Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley's debut collection for Marc by Marc Jacobs hit just the right note between high fashion and street style. These are clothes that everyone from musicians to editors to college kids can enjoy.
Most Buzzed-About Models of the Week: Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner
For the first seven day of shows, Gigi Hadid was the name on everyone's lips…and then Kendall walked Marc Jacobs in a completely see-through top. We really can't say which one made the bigger splash this week, so we're calling this one a tie.
Most Star-Studded Front Row: Hugo Boss
The label's first show under Jason Wu's creative direction attracted some of the designer's most notable clientele. Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow AND Diane Kruger all showed up to support him—the only famous fan missing was Michelle Obama!
Street Style Star that Caused the Biggest Kerfuffle: Alexa Chung
We'd definitely say that Miroslava Duma and Anna Dello Russo came in a close second and third, but since the Chungster only attended a select few shows, the photogs went extra crazy to capture her picture. The end result was worth it, though, don't you think?
