Elizabeth Taylor
Her choice of gown—a very generous gift from MGM Studios—was equal parts elegant and sexy, as you might expect. Her marriage to Conrad Hilton, Jr. (yes, of those Hiltons) in 1950 may have been the first of many, but this is arguably her best big-day look.
Jacqueline Bouvier
Considered to be the closest thing we've ever had to American royalty, this former First Lady was a shoo-in for our list. In 1953, she married John F. Kennedy in a silk taffeta gown by designer Ann Lowe. Needless to say, she looked exquisite and graceful.
Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn married New York Yankee Joe DiMaggio at San Francisco City Hall in January of 1954, and we have to say, her fur-collared brown wool suit couldn't have been more appropriate. It's slightly dressed-down but secretly luxe—a real style home run, if you ask us.
Grace Kelly
For her wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956, the bride wore a pearl-studded gown by Helen Rose. With its intricate silk, rose-point lace, tulle and seed pearls, the dress seems almost too delicate to actually wear—even by princess standards!
Priscilla Beaulieu
Clearly, it was all about the veil for this Vegas bride. In 1967, she married Elvis Presley at the Aladdin Hotel in a stunning pearl-trimmed number that she designed herself. We applaud her for choosing a more demure, non-form-fitting silhouette.
Audrey Hepburn
And the bride wore Givenchy! Audrey married Italian psychiatrist Andrea Dotti in Switzerland in 1969. We love that she opted for pale pink instead of white (so ahead of her time—nowadays, pink gowns are a celeb favorite!). The chic and mod wool dress and matching headscarf made for an ideal second-wedding ensemble.
Bianca Pérez-Mora Macias
Decked out in a YSL le smoking, Bianca cemented her place in history as one of the most unconventional—but absolutely stunning—brides of all time. While her marriage to Mick Jagger (the ceremony took place in Saint Tropez in 1971) was short-lived, the memory of this sexy skirt suit lives on.
Kathleen Silva
In 1974, Sly Stone married Kathleen Silva at Madison Square Garden in front of 23,000 guests—surely one of the biggest ceremonies in history. Perhaps that's why her wedding dress (which matched Sly's suit—or should we say jumpsuit) had more of a disco feel than your average big-day getup.
Yoko Ono
She may march to the beat of her own drum—or in this case, sitar—but tennis shoes and knee socks were an unusual choice even for Yoko for her 1969 wedding! Her take on matrimonial wear matched the anti-conformist sentiments of the era; from the oversize shades down to the floppy hat, this look was majorly rebellious.
Gwen Stefani
She's just a girl—a girl that was lucky enough to walk down the aisle in this stunning silk faille, dip-dyed number by John Galliano! At her 2002 wedding to Gavin Rossdale, she toned down the punk and didn't hold back on the feminine gorgeousness—we're in awe of that floral lace veil.
Kate Middleton
Kate's Alexander McQueen gown nodded to another royal bride—Grace Kelly—with its long lace sleeves and classic 1950s cut. While Kate walked down the isle in 2011—with 300 million people watching—we instantly knew that women for years to come would be dreaming to look like Kate on their wedding day!
Keira Knightley
Her 2013 wedding was no surprise, but the dress sure was. Despite widespread rumor that Karl Lagerfeld was set to create Keira's gown, the star walked down the aisle in a knee-length tulle strapless Rodarte she'd worn to a Bafta event in 2008. As Chanel's longtime brand ambassador, Keira paired her gown with one of Chanel's iconic tweed jackets and a fun floral wreath.
Lily Allen
We are still in shock that Lily seems to have lost her incredible Chanel couture reception dress. I mean, come on—the pearl-accented back and sleeves, embellished bodice and her beehive-style undo? Perfection! Find that dress, Lily. Not having it on display is a terrible loss for all of us fashion folk.
Kate Moss
I can't be the only one harboring a girl crush on Kate Moss, right? The supermodel married rocker Jamie Hince in 2011 in an Art Deco-style dress by none other than John Galliano. But Kate also changed at least three times over the course of her wedding—into an oyster silk chiffon dress for her first dance, a micro-mini afterparty dress and a pantsuit—all made by her close pal Stella McCartney.
Anne Hathaway
Anne walked down the aisle in Big Sur, California in 2012 wearing a custom Valentino gown. The elegant off-the-shoulder dress featured delicate embroidery and a full-length veil and headpiece.
Kate Bosworth
The Blue Crush actress—and several-time Lucky cover girl—wore two custom Oscar de la Renta dresses for her August 31, 2013 wedding to film director Michael Polish.
Chrissy Teigen
The supermodel married John Legend in September 2013. The gorgeous funny girl—seriously, she's hilarious—opted for three gowns on her big day. First, a classic white ball gown with a fitted top that featured a cut-out back. The second gown was also white and strapless, but featured a slimmer cut and a mermaid skirt. Her final dress, our personal favorite, was a stunning scarlet number. All three were designed by Vera Wang.
Christina Ricci
The former child star tied the knot with James Heerdegen in October 2013. And thankfully, she shared a gorgeous snap of her Givenchy Haute Couture gown on Instagram!
Kelly Clarkson
The first-ever American Idol winner married Brandon Blackstock on October 20, 2013. Clarkson wore a Temperley London gown for her Tennessee wedding. Don't they look like they walked straight out of a Jane Austen novel?
Rose McGowan
Charmed actress Rose McGowan is known for her flashy red carpet style, but she opted for an incredibly modest dress on her big day. Her strapless A-line Monique Lhuillier featured a corset and lace draped with a tulle overlay. But her raw-edge chapel-length tulle veil really got us misty-eyed.
Kristin Cavallari
The Laguna Beach star married Jay Cutler in Nashville in June 2013. Her strapless Monique Lhuillier gown featured a high belt and bustled skirt. And of course Heidi, Stephanie and Audrina were all in attendance!
Kaley Cuoco
Kaley and her professional tennis player husband Ryan Sweeting had their fairy tale wedding on New Years Eve 2013. After three months of dating, Cuoco walked down the aisle in a pink dress by designer Vera Wang.
