Don't get me wrong, I love Elle Woods. From her sassy style advice (whoever said orange was the new pink is seriously disturbed) to her scented résumé, she bent and snapped her way into my heart. But sometimes, as a blonde, it's hard to wear pink without looking like (dare I say it?) just another Barbie blonde.

For this reason, I avoid pink. Look in my closet and you'll find every shade under the sun—with mint and jewel-tone blue being two of my favorites—but not a pop of pink is to be found. Sure, I have pink lipstick and nail polish, but only in the palest, most ballet slipper-inspired of shades. As a Dallas-born, blonde sorority girl, I worry that wearing pink will only encourage the "dumb blonde" stereotype.

But with spring on its way, I'm finally ready to embrace this season's hottest color trend. Call it a spring closet makeover resolution, if you will. Hopefully, the 20 street style photos in the slideshow above will serve as some serious color makeover inspiration for you like they did for me.
