New Capitol Couture Portraits Feature Johanna And Peeta In Alexander Wang And Margiela
As the Capitol ramps up its propaganda efforts in response to the brewing dissent in the districts and pirate transmissions spread rumors of the Mockingjay's return, it's released the latest issue of Capitol Couture, with a cover story featuring Quarter Quell victors Peeta Mellark and Johanna Mason clad head-to-toe in an austere all-white palette.
Peeta—the "Spirit of Strength"—is stoic in a matte white leather Unconditional suit paired with a shirt and shoes by Martin Margiela and a sculptural paper collar by David Mason, which the publication says "mirrors the sculptural elements in Johanna’s dress and gives a stern ambiance to the baker’s son." Johanna—"Statuesque Allure"—meanwhile, is a vision in an avant-garde gown by Alon Livne, hand-carved marble bangles by Chen Chen and Kai Williams and a pair of Alexander Wang stilettos fit for a "a true darling of the Capitol."
Now, Panem has never lagged behind when it comes to fashion, but these outfits really are something else—though whether they'll help keep a revolution at bay is a question that is yet to be answered.
