Kate Bosworth is a woman of many titles: street style maven, our Blue Crush girl crush, global ambassador for the SK-II skincare line and former Lucky cover star, to name just a few. But now, like so many leading ladies in Hollywood, she’s out to create a business venture on the side—though no, it’s decidedly not a lifestyle website; Blake and Reese already have those bases covered.

The 31-year-old actress is launching an app called Style Thief (founded by Samantha Russ), and it’s more or less like Shazam, but for clothes. The platform allows users to take a photo of an item, and Style Thief will run a quick search for where you might be able to get it yourself. Then, you can buy it from any number of e-commerce sites through a few clicks. It’s a genius development that has the potential to make shopping out our favorite street style looks that much faster, easier and more streamlined.

“Everyone has fashion envy,” Bosworth told Women’s Wear Daily. “Everyone can relate to that feeling of looking at an editorial, for example—or a friend, or the runway, for that matter—wanting to steal something exactly as you’re seeing it, or something similar.”

Style Thief’s beta version launched last November, with plans to debut for the iPhone in European countries, such as the U.K. and Germany, within the next 60 days. Don’t fret, Google users: an Android version is set to become available later this year.

While Style Thief has its own slew of direct competitors, its reach remains one of the biggest—it's partnered with more than 300 sought-after retailers, including Swell, Saks Fifth Avenue, Forever 21 and Moda Operandi.

“Our intention is to be a tool for consumers to find something and ultimately purchase," said Bosworth. "It’s as easy as that.”
