Is This Kate Middleton’s Best Alexander McQueen Ever?
While it might be a smidge early for us to get decked out in head-to-toe ceremonial garb, it’s just another Monday morning for Kate Middleton on the other side of the pond. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of WWI, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge popped over to Liege, Belgium to represent the Queen. For the occasion, the Duchess debuted a brand-new (or, a never re-worn) Alexander McQueen cream coat dress with a darling Peter Pan color. With her much-loved LK Bennett heels, a dusty pink fascinator and pearl earrings, Middleton pulled off that signature modern, ladylike style to a tee.
But, here’s why this McQueen coat dress is something extra special. The coat dress itself isn't exactly revolutionary; the formal style is a favorite amongst royals everywhere, including the Queen herself. But this particular number takes the one-and-done style to a different level, thanks to the pleated skirt, femme collar, structured bodice and all.
All in all, it’s a conservative but still totally personable wardrobe choice—a combination the Duchess does best.
