Ask almost any little girl between the ages of three and eight, and she'll confirm that pink and purple is the best combination. You'll find it in fairy princesses' closets, and in the flowing manes of talking unicorns; the cutesiest of cartoon characters wear it in spades. Perhaps, the only thing that could make it better is sparkles. Lots, and lots of sparkles.

Oh, what's that? You don't want to look like Strawberry Shortcake and Harmony Care Bear and a few My Little Ponies put together your outfit? How about going with something like the look above instead, a much more grown up approach to styling the two sugar spun colors. The key to keeping the ensemble from feeling achingly sweet is sticking with simple embellishment-free silhouettes (no bows, no sequins, no heart motifs!) and mixing in at least one neutral.
