Easy Suede Repairs You Can Do at Home

- Revive balding or matted spots by rubbing the area with a strip of fine sandpaper (about as rough as a nail file). Then, using the same pressure you would to check a pulse, work in a vertical—not circular—motion.
- To remove salt stains, brush the area with a suede brush (a firm toothbrush also works) doused in a 50/50 white vinegar and water solution. Let the spots dry overnight, then go over them lightly with a clean, dry brush.
