Readers Ask: Dear Lucky
Q: What colors/prints should girls with curves stay away from?

A: Clothes with large, loud prints will make anybody look like a sofa if they're too tight—and like hotel drapes if they're too loose. I think smaller-scale—to make a sweeping generalization—is easier to wear, no matter what your body type.
Color choice has even less to do with body type! If you look good in hot pink, you wear hot pink. The three people on earth who look good in yellow must embrace it, especially because the rest of us can then live vicariously. Fit is the thing: not too tight, not too loose. Perfect draping. Body-skimming. The way a Roland Mouret dress always seems to look. Put on your outfit and stand in front of the mirror and think: What would Roland Mouret have to say about this? WWRMD?
