Q: Yesterday at Marie Robinson Salon, the office manager was wearing a white T-shirt with a clearly-meant-to-be-seen black bra underneath. The deliberately contrasting, deliberately visible bra used to be a fashion "mistake" but now seems to be mainstreaming. Can I wear this to work? How can I do it so I don't look like I got dressed in the dark? Is this just for hipsters?

A: Not just for hipsters! Also not for a job interview or jury summations! But then, you wouldn't be wearing a white T-shirt for such a situation anyway, would you? Unless you're in a super-creative field (e.g., you're a haircolorist like Marie Robinson!), save this cute, generally flattering and genuinely fun trend for the weekend (not the weekend you meet your prospective in-laws). I myself love a neon color—one I wouldn't wear as a whole shirt, but one that spices up an otherwise dull outfit considerably. Black doesn't thrill me as much, but I'm sure I could be persuaded ...
