Dear Lucky: How Do I Keep My Makeup from Sweating Off?
Q: How do I keep my makeup from sweating off? —@_its-steph
A: Dear @_its-steph,
Primer really helps makeup stay on. It’s sort of the translucent powder of now; unless you’re very young, powder can be aging, especially when caked over foundation and concealer. Primer under everything generally results in a dewier, more natural look. The exception to that rule would be mineral makeup, which is all powder and looks totally natural. Go figure.
There are eyeshadow primers, too. If you’ve got an elaborate eye look, it’s worth the extra step. And powder blush lasts longer than cream or gel, as a rule. Well-placed concealer is always better than a ton of foundation. It lasts, looks more natural—and it’s easier to touch up. Lastly, Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara now comes in waterproof; you can’t go wrong with that.
