Dear Lucky: Is There an Age Where Crazy Nail Polish Starts to Look Wrong?

Q: I’m in fashion, so my job is pretty creative, but I still wonder: Is there an age where crazy nail art starts to look wrong on you? —Lauren

A: Dear Lauren,
I don’t think this is an age question. If we’re all lucky enough to make it to the nursing home, what are we going to do all day if we can’t go crazy with our nails? I feel like our hair’s not going to be so much fun to play with at that point.

It is, however, a work question. Clearly, if you’ve got a one-percenter job (investment banker, corporate lawyer, oil executive), one of the trade-offs is no nail art. (Except for pedicures, because we know you wear nothing but closed-toe shoes!) If your job is creative and you don’t have a giant presentation/interview coming up, I say, carpe diem.
