How-To (Beauty)
Six Elegant Hairstyles Surprisingly sexy, romantic looks that really say "dressed up."
1
Half up, half down
Pull the top of your hair into a tight, sleek ponytail—it'll stay in place all night, while the rest of the hair moves around and looks sexy. Set it with extra-hold hairspray.
2
The slicked-back knot
Use hairspray first, then smooth your hair into a ponytail; bind with an elastic. Then coil ponytail into a bun. Secure the ends with bobby pins, spray a few more times, and brush hair lightly on top. Set it with a weatherproof nonaerosol spray.
3
Loose and wavy
For volume, use mousse or thickening spray to play up your hair's natural body and movement, or wrap big sections around a large-barrel curling iron for a few seconds. Set it with a texturizing spray.
4
A messy French twist
Sweep your hair back, and as you start to twist it, rake your fingers through to add softness. It should feel loose, not perfectly smooth. Stick in a few large bobby pins to hold. Set it with a combination mousse and hairspray.
5
Short and tousled
Texture—and shine—is key for short hair at night. If your hair is full, mist shine spray on hands, then run it through. For body, use paste or pomade. Set it with a glossing mist to add even more shine.
6
Braided ponytails
Clip them together in the back, or wind them around your head like a crown. The braid becomes an ornament. Set it with finishing spray.
