How-to (Fit)

Blazers and long dresses

Lucky How-to

Putting it together:

  • A column dress—one that's straight and simply cut—with a hem that ends at the top of your shoes is best: It gives more of a daytime feel than anything too floor-sweeping and fancy. Pick one in a drapey fabric for a nice sense of movement.

  • Go for a structured, single-breasted blazer that fits snugly through the sleeves and has high armholes: It will balance out the billowing dress and give your top half some shape.

  • For extra warmth, layer it all over a thin turtleneck in a muted color. A chunky, shiny necklace adds a bit of glamour.
