Megan Niedzwiecki, 23, loves the simplicity of this white blouse and skinny black pants combination—but also felt it looked a little plain. We showed her two very basic styling tricks to jazz it up:
Option 1:
-Switched her black flats for dark brown heels
-Added a black leather belt with a gold buckle
Option 2:
-Layered a shrunken tuxedo jacket over the shirt
"We started by just tucking in her blouse and adding a narrow belt, which really helped define Megan's figure," says fashion news director Jen Ford. "She doesn't mind wearing heels, so we added a pair that mimicked the rounded shape of her flats, but straightened out her pant leg. For a look that's even more pulled together, she could then pick a shrunken black jacket, for when she has job interviews or important events."
Megan's reaction:
"Tucking in the top is much more flattering! The belt and heels make the outfit more exciting without straying from my minimalist approach. And with the jacket, I feel professional but not overdressed."
